DA JHOSA donates to Ave Dakpa D/A JHS


Dakpa Junior High Old Students Association (DA JHOSA) has donated sign post to the Ave Dakpa D/A Junior High School in the Akatsi North District in the Volta Region to make the school easily recognizable.

This and other contributions to the school are the association’s way of giving back to the school that started it all for them to get to where they are today.

At the commissioning of the sign post, Mr. James Gunu, District Chief Executive urged students to lead decent and exemplary lives in school and pursue their academic work with determination and focus in order to create better opportunities for the future.


He said the school’s motto: “Knowledge is Garden” means a lot and should serve as guiding principle for the students. According to him, whatever fruit the students hope to reap in future must be cultivated right from this place with much serious.

The DCE advised the students to make judicious use of their time at school and home if they want to succeed.

 Established in 1953, Mr. Gunu noted that a lot of people have passed through to become better people in life but only those who made exceptional inputs are usually remembered and called on the students to aspire to be among those exceptional ones who would give back to their community.

He commended members of DA JHOSA for the good intention they have to contribute to the growth and development of their alma mater adding that that spirit is what is needed in the district to accelerate development.

Dennis Ahiadu, President of the Association and a teacher trainee at the Akatsi College of Education said but for the good foundation they received at the basic level of education, they would not have gotten to their current places. As such whatever little contribution they can make to improve these schools would be made.

He thanked DA JHOSA members for their contributions of money and time. He urged them to remain united push the good intensions of the Association forward.

Bedzra Saviour, finance secretary for the Association said about GHs750.00 has been expended in providing various supports for the school. He added that the Association is making major plans to help the school celebrate speech and prize giving day come next year.
