ENI Foundation presents two ambulances to district Ellembele District

The Ellembelle district in the Western Region has taken delivery of two new ambulances to help facilitate health delivery in the district.

Two ambulances donated by EIN, forms just one part of support package that the health sector is receiving from the group.

The ambulances are aimed at ensuring smooth, effective and faster transportation of patients during emergencies and on referrals.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, District chief Executive, Mr. Daniel Kermanbetu Eshun lauded the group for the massive interventions made in the health sector in the district especially with regards to health infrastructure development.

He said though the efforts are helping to improve health delivery in general, the main focus is to improve maternal health and reduce maternal and child mortality drastically in the district. That is why they have invested a lot in the provision of Community-based Health and Planning Services (CHPS) Compounds in a number of communities to facilitate and strengthen primary infant and maternal medical services in those communities.

These interventions, the DCE noted are in line to supporting the country to achieve the Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5.

The northern and southern sectors of the district are to receive one each.
