The contractor has mobilized and is currently on site
working seriously with bulldozers to get the road back in shape to ensure
motorists have smooth journey on that road.
Assemblyman for Atomic Electoral Area, Cornelius Addo said
the rehabilitation work was long overdue, adding that though contract for the
project was awarded three years ago, the project could not take off because of
lack of funds.
He said the unmotorable nature of the road and its dusty
nature frustrated all users of the road and people leaving along the road and
forced a number of businesses to close down or relocate to more suitable
environments including a school.
The assemblyman stated that people were long anticipating
work 2.5km stretch of the road and its completion with bitumen surfacing would
bring great relieve to residents and other road users.
Rehabilitation of Kwabenya –Abom Junction road has finally
commenced after 3years of delay.
