Kwahu West confirms Alex Obeng

Assembly Members in the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly have endorsed Mr. Alex Somuah Obeng, the President’s appointee as Municipal Chief Executive.


Mr. Obeng, polled 23 votes out of 33 representing 70 percent with 10 votes against to be confirmed.

By this, he will be serving the assembly for the second consecutive term having been in charged since 2009, when he was appointed by the Late President Atta Mills.

He commended the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work even harder with their cooperation and support to accelerate development in the municipality.

Meanwhile, the assembly has also elected a new Presiding Member (PM) to take charge of the house.  The new PM Dickson Amofa Akyirem polled 31 votes to beat his only contender, Kinsley Osei, who polled 2 votes. Kinsley Osei was the incumbent.
